「Silicon Valley - New Japan Summit」は、シリコンバレーのスタートアップと日本企業をつなぐ招待制の2Dayサミット。世界のスタートアップエコシステムと日本をつなぐメディア「TECHBLITZ」と、スタンフォード大学 US-Asia Technology Management Center、一般社団法人日本能率協会が連携し、シリコンバレーのエコシステムの中核を担うスタンフォード大学にて開催します。
シリコンバレーのスタートアップと日本企業が直接商談できるBiz-Devブース、日米企業の連携事例から刺激と知見を得ることができるトークセッションを用意しています。本サミットを通じて、シリコンバレーのスタートアップと日本企業のコラボレーションを創出します。

Richard Dasher has been Director of the US-Asia Technology Management Center at Stanford University since 1994. His research and teaching focus on innovation systems, the impact of new technologies on industry value chains, and open innovation management. Dr. Dasher serves as an advisor to universities, national research institutes, and government S&T funding programs in Japan, Thailand, Canada, and other countries. He is also active as an advisor to start-up companies, business accelerators, venture capital firms, and nonprofits in Silicon Valley, China, Japan, and S. Korea. Dr. Dasher was the first non-Japanese person ever asked to join the governance of a Japanese national university, serving as a Board Director and member of the Management Council of Tohoku University from 2004 - 2010. Dr. Dasher received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Linguistics from Stanford University.

George Kellerman was one of the first five employees who launched Yamaha Motor Ventures & Laboratory Silicon Valley in August 2015, and he served as its COO & General Partner until January 2019 when he became CEO & Managing Director.
Prior to becoming CEO George spearheaded creation of the company’s AgTech strategy, which is focused on creating robotics and automation solutions for the horticulture industry, and he led the team that created and launched Yamaha Motor Exploratory Fund, L.P., the company’s flagship $100M fund that is focused on investing in early-stage startups in areas such as AgTech, MedTech, AeroTech, Mobility and Sustainability. George also led the company’s investments in PrecisionHawk, Robotics Plus, and Soft Robotics.
Prior to joining YMVSV, George was a Managing Partner at 500 Startups where he oversaw finance, legal, and investor relations for a portfolio of over 750 companies and $120M in assets under management. Before becoming an early-stage investor George also served as a senior executive at companies such as Dell Japan, Experian Interactive, Yahoo Japan Corporation, and Yahoo!

Jess joined Sentons in April of 2019 and brings more than 25 years of executive leadership, management and development experience.
Prior to Sentons, Jess served as President and CEO of InVisage Technologies, where he established a new category of high performance cameras and image sensors. To achieve this, Jess and his team created entirely new multi-layered electro-optical device stacks fed by designer quantum dot films. Jess led InVisage from its neonatal R&D stage to product adoption & revenue with Tier 1s, over $100M of capital raises, and ultimately its exit to Apple, where he drove the M&A integration into undisclosed projects.
His previous companies include OmniVision Technologies where, as VP & GM of its Mainstream Business Unit, he drove their growth from $50M in annual sales to over $500M in less than 4 years. Jess has served in various product marketing, product management and engineering roles at Creative Labs, Silicon Graphics and Altera. He holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science and Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto. -

As CEO of zGlue, Dr. Ming Zhang is responsible for shaping the strategic direction and running all facets of zGlue’s business operations. Prior to co-founding zGlue in 2014 with Dr. Jawad Nasrullah, Zhang led the Design Technology Department at Samsung System LSI’s Silicon Valley office. In this role, he led the department’s R&D efforts and supported key U.S. customers on a full suite of SoC manufacturing and design methodologies.
Previously, Zhang was a senior staff architect at Intel, where he was responsible for DFX for multiple products, and led the development of a corporate-level, seven-year strategic plan on energy-efficient mobile platforms, while managing a cross-geographical & cross-functional team. Zhang also worked at a big data startup in Silicon Valley, where he managed the development efforts on machine-learning algorithms, software and cloud infrastructure.
Zhang holds more than 20 U.S. patents on reliable systems and nanotechnology. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a focus on circuit and system RAS (reliability, availability, serviceability) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on MEMS from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Peking University in China. -

Ravi's career as a serial entrepreneur spans over 25 years in high-tech where he has led technology and business teams across a diverse set of areas including Mobile, Wireless, Telecom & Networking, Enterprise Software and Microelectronics.
Ravi also founded Kinaare Networks – a pioneer in IoT platforms and devices, and Digital Microsystems (Canada) – which developed networked-security/energy management consumer products. Other experiences include product marketing and management at Sun, Apple and Nortel. In engineering, his work included networking, switching systems, data acquisition, computer integrated manufacturing, alternative fuel and embedded systems.

Later he worked at a start-up, Faraday Future where he led a team to develop self-driving software for next generation smart cars. He architected and deployed AI algorithm and Deep Learning model in self-driving application. Later he worked at Apple as Sr. Architect worked on autonomous solution.
Currently he is the, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of SafeAI, Inc. SafeAI is building the future of autonomous mine by creating autonomous mining equipment that just works.
He has published 1 book on autonomous robotics, over 15 journal papers, and filed more than 40 patent applications. -
